Teacher Week: What?

Hi Everyone!
Today is "What Friday" on Blog Hoppin's Teacher WeekThe focus for today is WHAT we like to teach.  Math is my favorite subject to teach.  This summer I created this template that shows different ways of representing multiplication equations.  The Common Core standards covered in this activity are 3.OA.1, 3.OA.5, 3.OA.6 and 3.OA.7.
Here are a couple of examples from my third grade summer school students.

Teacher Week: When?

Hi Everyone!
Today is "When Thursday" on Blog Hoppin's Teacher Week.  Today's focus is on schedules, plans, and management.  School has not officially started for me, so I'm still working on my schedule.  This is the general flow of the day that I use as a guideline.

How do you schedule your day?

Teacher Week: Why?

The Blog Hoppin' Teacher Week topic for day 3 is ORGANIZATION! I've purchased some awesome pink baskets for the library.  However, my ultimate organizational tool...BINDERS! I have a binder for everything.  I prefer binders with clear sheet covers.  Keeping important papers in binders is a very efficient way of reducing clutter and having exactly what you need at your fingertips.

In preparing for our kindergarten and first grade teams, I keep all important documents in separate binders.
I use tons of sheet protectors and condense like categories. I put all the graphic organizers for our reading program together in one sleeve as shown below.
For me, binders are an essential part of staying organized.

Teacher Week: Where?

I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin' for day 2 of Teacher Week.  This is where I teach.

I am mentoring a new teacher who just happens to be in my old classroom.  I arranged the furniture and look forward to helping her put it all together next week.
