The Chalk's February Currently

Hello February!  Better late than never...I'm linking up with Farley over at Oh Boy It's Farley for the February Currently.  Here goes...

LISTENING:  Hello is such a great song. Adele has a powerful voice indeed.  I can't wait to see her perform on the upcoming Grammy Awards.





LOVING:  For the first time in NYC we're off on Monday, February 8th for the Lunar New Year!

THINKING:  Midwinter Recess is coming up shortly and I have three MAJOR assignments due for my administrative class.  Although I will be extremely busy, I am grateful to have the time off to get things done.

WANTING:  I have been working on how to balance work/home for years, yet I'm still where I started. What do you do to slow down?

NEEDING:  My iPad needs protection...LOL! If I drop that thing one more time.....

SWOONING:  Friday was Go Red for Women Day and my school raised $679 to be donated to the American Heart Association.  We're committed to spreading awareness.

Janaury 2016 CURRENTLY

Hello 2016!  I'm excited to link up with Farley over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade for the January Currently.  Out with the old, in with the new.  I'm looking forward to the possibilities that a new year can bring.

LISTENING:  Unforgettable in every way...I was saddened to hear about the death of Natalie Cole yesterday.  R.I.P Natalie...







LOVING:  I am going to drink more water this year!  I downloaded the Water Alert – Drinking Water Reminder and Tracker app. I'm hoping that the reminders will make the difference. The app is free.

THINKING:  CHEERS to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. -Oprah Winfrey.  LOVE this quote! I am a collector of quotes.  Check out my Quotes board on Pinterest.

WANTING:  My clip art collection is a disaster.  I have purchased and downloaded so much clip art but have not taken the time to get it organized.  Any good ideas?

NEEDING:  I've decided to make a vision board to start off the new year.  I think a digital version is the way to go.  I might create it in PowerPoint of get an app.  I will definitely make it my screen saver so I can remain focused on my vision throughout the year. 

ONE LITTLE WORD: DETERMINATION - I have goals to accomplish the year and with determination, I WILL.

The Chalk's August Currently

Hello August!  I'm excited to link up with Farley over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade for the August Currently.  July was productive, intense, and brought new challenges.  I'm now looking forward to the possibilities that a new month can bring.

LISTENING:  The movie Birdman /The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance was on HBO last night.  While I was watching/listening I heard crickets chirping.  I thought it was part of the movie.  When it didn't subside after a minute or so, I realized it was REAL.  It was so loud that it distracted me from the movie.  Had to close my window - guess it was a mating call.

LOVING:  Although I worked longer than intended, I'm still finding time to enjoy the lazy days of summer. 

THINKING:  We order take-out all the time.  We might cook 3 - 4 times max per week.  During the summer this shouldn't be the case because I have ample time to prepare meals.  I WILL do better (I think).

WANTING:  I'm looking for plastic or metal hanging file folders to mount on the wall.  I need a system for frequently accessing papers and a binder system won't work well.  Any ideas?

NEEDING:  Purchased 3 begonias for the flowerpots in my front yard about 3 weeks ago. I need to repot them today. I can tell the plants need to spread out.  Plus I'm in the mood to get my hands dirty.

The Chalk's July Currently

It's that time again! I'm hooking up with Farley over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade for the July Currently.
Here goes...

Listening:  We used Happy by Pharell Williams for our kindergarten Stepping Up.  Can't get it outta my head.  Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof...



Loving:  I have been assigned to do the purchasing at my school.  The system is complicated but I'm looking forward to learning something new.  I'm a little nervous but I do LOVE to shop!

Thinking:  At times I look at my 60+ TPT products and think there's got to be a better way.  I've decided to organize grade level products by color.  Now I just need to begin making the new covers.
What is your system?

Wanting:  I'm on the lookout for an app to organize my clipart.  I have SOOOO much and I usually don't rename it - so finding what I need is quite time consuming.

Needing:  Due to the amount of time I spend on the laptop, I bought a Fitdesk a few months ago.  Then I picked up a Fitbit so I could compete with my colleagues. Now that summer break is here there are No excuses.

All Star:  Just call me the CLIPART QUEEN.  I'm at the point where I go to buy something new and I find that I already own it - LOL!

June Currently

Oops! It's June 6th and I finally have a few minutes of ME time.  With all the end of year craziness going on, I haven't had a minute to post.  I'm linking up with Farley over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade for the June Currently.  Here goes...



Listening:  I recently used Chicago Song by David Sanborn in a Year in Review slide show.  It's jazzy, upbeat and worked perfectly for me - take a listen.





Loving:  My new MacBook Pro is awesome!  However, I'm facing a few challenges while learning the ropes. I've been using it for two weeks and I still can't figure out how to save to a USB.  I will become an expert by summer once I have time to explore.  Love. love, love iPhoto!

Thinking:  School ends in NYC on Friday, June 26th.  I'm  excited about the summer vacay, but there's much to do in just three weeks.  CRUNCH time...

Wanting:  IKEA has the best houseplants and I am desperately in need of new plants.  I am committed to taking good care of them (this time).

Needing:  This summer I am going to work on scheduling posts. My goal is two posts per week.  How often do you post?

Summer Lovin:  CHEERS to No alarm for 8 weeks! I have been teaching summer school for YEARS.  I took this summer off because I want to work on TPT products, my blog and website. I'm not planning on wearing shoes for two months and I can't tell you how happy I am about that.

February Currently

Happy February!  I'm hooking up with Farley over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade for the February Currently.  This is a great way to discover new blogs.



Listening:  I just watched the January 29th episode of Scandal and Olivia was dancing around to Stevie Wonder's Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing.  Now that's great music!





 

Loving:  I know I'm late to the party because I have only watched 3 episodes of Scandal.  I'm officially a fan now.  I'll try and catch up during the winter break.

Thinking:  From now on whenever I reach a TPT milestone I'm going to stop and smell the roses.  I'll celebrate by having a sale and taking the family out to dinner.  I started my store a year and three months ago and it has become such a big part of my life.

Wanting:  I have been doing my research this weekend looking for a treadmill desk combo.  I think I'm going to get the Pro-Form Thinline Pro Desk Treadmill.  I absolutely sit for toooooo long.  I lose track of time when I'm on the laptop.

 

Needing:  Friday, February 6th is National Wear Red Day.  We are having a fundraiser at my school to benefit the American Heart Association.  Students and staff were asked to donate $1.00.  The school community will also be wearing red in order to bring awareness to the cause. 

This is the beginning stage of our Healthy Heart Wall. We have over 200 hearts now.  I will post an updated photo soon.



Pageant title:  My pageant name would be The Task Master.  I am involved in a million activities at my school - but I love keeping busy.

 

January Currently

Super excited to hook up with Farley over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade for the first CURRENTLY of 2015.  Here goes...

LISTENING:  I absolutely LOVE this song.  It's perfect if you're reflecting on the past and thinking about the future.

LOVING:  I'm trying these 48 hour experiments from E-Squared by Pam Grout.  They really do work.  It's about positive thinking.  So many wonderful things have been happening since I started about a year ago.

 

THINKING:  I will definitely take down the Christmas tree today. Had the kids and husband bring all the storage containers upstairs. Can't turn back now - UGH!

 

WANTING:  I've been trolling furniture sites looking for a desk for weeks.  I think this one might look great in my bedroom. What do you think?





 

NEEDING:  I looked for my cell phone off and on for a few hours yesterday.  I finally FOUND IT in the middle of the night under a black scarf.  Sneaky little thing...

 

YES:  I haven't been this excited about a NEW YEAR in a long time.  Saying YES to endless possibilities.

 

MAYBE:  I am going to start meditating.  It's time to tune out some of the technology because it can become an addiction.  I'm doing my research now, gathering my resources, and planning out my space.

 

I WISH:  I plan the staff parties at school and I'm constantly told I should open a business.  I think I might actually like to do this.  I'm planning for a hot chocolate bar this coming Tuesday.  Pictures will follow.

 

HAPPY 2015!!!

December Currently

December?  Really? Say what?  I refuse to get caught up in the CRAZINESS!  I am relaxing, watching BRAVO (Vanderpump Rules), and drinking coffee.  This is the perfect time to link up with Farley from Oh Boy 4th Grade for the December Currently.  Here goes...

LISTENING:  On my drive in this morning I heard one of my favs Melody Gardot singing Who Will Comfort Me?  She reminds me a bit of Nina Simone.

LOVING:  ALL of my Christmas decorations have been taken out.  My husband and sons brought everything upstairs (I didn't have to ask). Hooray!!!

THINKING:  I am the Gifted and Talented test coordinator and I have a PD tomorrow.  Looking forward to learning something new.

WANTING:  My husband and I are planning to go back to the restaurant we went to 25 years ago for our anniversary on December 30th.
 
NEEDING:  Cyber Monday is here and I didn't buy one thing.  I'm definitely going to take advantage of the TPT cyber sale before it ends.

GIVING:  There are so many wonderful initiatives going on at my school.  My colleagues are dedicated to giving to the less fortunate. We're collecting toys and gloves/mittens to be donated to charity.  I picked up gloves at TARGET (my favorite spot) over the weekend.

November Currently

November?  Say what?  I'm READY to join the "Currently" fun and link up with Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade.

Listening:  Sade is one of my favorites.  Now this is easy listening music.

Loving:   This weather is absolutely perfect.  I have the urge to go out and take pictures of the foliage.  I have been pinning so many cute crafts kids can make with leaves.  Check out my Craftivity board on Pinterest.

Thinking:  Attitude is everything.  We have to guard our minds from negative thoughts (and people).  We have to acknowledge and appreciate all of  the wonderful things going on in our lives. 

Wanting:  Every time I've stopped in Costco since August, I've noticed this Christmas display that would look great in my bay window.  I just avoided picking it up because, well, it was August, then September, then October.  I hope to pick it up today.

 

Needing:  I am determined to go for a walk today.  I spent much of yesterday working on TpT products and my new website.

 



Reading:  I've read 40% of The Four Agreements by Miguel Ruiz. I love the fact that Kindle gives percentages.  It's actually an audio book that I listen do during my commute to work.  I'm trying to put some of the teachings into practice.  Wish me luck...
